We are seeking a talented individual to fill the role of a PR Account Director on a full-time basis. The agency are open to part-time arrangements, such as 3 full days with 1 day in the Reading office, or shorter hours spread across 4 days with 1 in-office day.
As the PR Account Director, you will lead a portfolio of consumer and B2B accounts in the health, wellbeing, and food sector. You will report directly to the management team, which includes the joint directors. We're looking for someone who brings fresh thinking to the table and is eager to contribute their innovative ideas.
What do you need?
To succeed in this role, you should have a minimum of 5-6 years of consumer/FMCG experience. Ideally in a consumer PR agency, with over 8 years being even more advantageous. Your strategic thinking skills will be put to the test as you come up with big ideas and ignite creativity within the team. As well as possess a strong track record of retaining clients and nurturing organic growth.
Your media knowledge, particularly in consumer and B2B spaces, will be your strong suit. And your understanding of the wellbeing industry will set you apart. Experience in crisis communications is a plus, along with exceptional writing skills and keen attention to detail. You will excel at managing campaigns, building budgets. And maintaining exceptional client relationships.
You'll be proficient in originating new business leads, handling end-to-end delivery (strategy, creative, writing, presenting). And understanding the digital landscape, including social media. Technical skills such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are essential.
But you're more than just a list of skills. You're a team player who isn't afraid to get hands-on. You're driven, creative, and commercially astute. Your sense of humour and genuine interest in the food, health, and wellbeing space will make you a great fit for the team.
What will you do?
In this role, you'll serve as the primary client-facing lead for your accounts. You'll take charge of strategizing and implementing campaigns, ensuring they align with agreed-upon KPIs. A deep understanding of clients' business objectives and the industry landscape will guide your efforts. You'll expertly manage multiple integrated campaign programmes within the allocated budget and mentor team members across different levels to foster their growth.
As a team leader on your accounts, you'll organise and oversee the activities of your account team. Both strategically and on a day-to-day basis. Collaborating closely with the management team, you'll contribute to the refinement of systems and procedures. Your input will be instrumental in identifying new business opportunities and areas for growth.
Client relationships will be at the core of your role. You'll cultivate close ties with clients, understanding their objectives and how PR and communications can drive their success. Innovation and creativity will be your allies as you develop strategic plans and evaluate their effectiveness regularly. Monitoring account servicing and maintaining high-quality work standards will be second nature to you.
